Dr Shankar Ramaswamy is a highly trained Pain Specialist and Anaesthetist. He was a five-star rated UK based specialist with substantive appointments at St Bartholomew’s and Royal London Hospital (public sector) as well as at leading private hospitals in the prestigious Harley Street and London Bridge areas in Central London and East London. He has also held leadership and academic appointments in Pain Management and Anaesthesia with active involvement in research, undergraduate and postgraduate education. He has numerous publications to his credit including original research articles, review articles and chapters in prominent textbooks. He has also delivered several national and international lectures. He holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship with the University of Edinburgh and is the course director for their MSc Pain Management program. Expertise: Dr Ramaswamy is vastly experienced in managing patients with acute, chronic and cancer pain. He treats patients with wide variety of conditions such as neck pain, back pain, post-surgical pain, headache, facial pain, chronic musculoskeletal and joint pain, fibromyalgia, CRPS and neuropathic pain, abdomen-pelvic pain, sports injuries, cancer pain and whiplash. Dr Pras Sivam (Prassannah Satasivam) holds both a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and membership of the Society of Urologic Oncology. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne and currently serves as Urology Training Supervisor and Research Lead at Northern Health.
Pras grew up in Melbourne and graduated from Haileybury College as Dux of the School in 1998. He joined the University of Melbourne Medical School with a tertiary entrance rank of 99.95. Having completed his medical degree from Monash University in 2006, Dr Edward Tsoi undertook his postgraduate specialty training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine at Monash Health, Austin Health and Northern Health in Victoria. He then completed his Master of Public Health from University of Newcastle in 2015 and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians later that year.
Dr Tsoi is now working at Northern Health while continuing his research though his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and subspecialty training in advanced endoscopy at the University of Melbourne and St Vincent’s Hospital. He has a special interest in Barrett’s oesophagus, endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic mucosal resections, evaluation of small bowel luminal disease through double balloon enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy (Pill Cam).
Dr Tsoi manages problems in all areas of gastroenterology including liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and bowel cancer screening.
