Sonia has been a registered nurse and midwife for over 30 years, with qualifications in Maternal, Child and family health for the last 15 years.  She is an IBCLC lactation consultant with 20 years’ experience helping and supporting parents with their feeding journey.

Sonia has special interest in skin care and eczema support, particularly around breastfeeding the unsettled infant.

Sonia works with parents and children who have oral aversion and for whom feeding has been particularly difficult from birth to toddlers and can support parents with monitoring the growth and developmental milestones of their children.

Sonia also prides herself in her work with families of children who have challenges with attention, speech delay and social engagement skills. She can assist families with referral to support services and NDIS application and documentation.

Sonia can see parents and their children from birth to school age.

After choosing to specialise in Immunisation in 2003, Ms Sonja Elia became Victoria’s first Nurse Practitioner in the field of Immunisation. She has a particular interest in BCG vaccination, vaccine hesitancy, special risk groups, needle phobia and immunisation education. In addition to her role at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Sonja is a current member of the Immunisation Coalition and holds honorary positions with the University of Melbourne Nurse Immuniser program and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

Leanne Boase is a Nurse Practitioner and the practice owner, who qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1995, and has worked in a wide variety of clinical and management roles, with experience in both metropolitan and rural health settings, and across a number of clinical specialties. With postgraduate qualifications in Emergency Nursing, Leanne went on to complete her Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner), and was subsequently endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner in 2009.

Leanne is known for her expertise in management of eczema and asthma, and also has significant experience in ENT and minor injuries and illness.  

Leanne is also specialised in diagnosis and treatment of Hepatitis C, and is currently awaiting authority to treat Hepatitis B

Leanne has a passion for health professional education, completing her Masters in Health Science Education in 2005. She has extensive experience in both the tertiary and private sectors, educating a wide range of health professionals.  

She also has interests in business development and is a principle of Prime Medical Property Group - responsible for several major health developments in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne.
